18-10-2007 “Uto Ughi per Roma” 2007 the ninth edition comes to an end, as always ‘sold out’. The ninth Edition of the musical festival organised by Meet - who has also overseen its integrated communication since its inception – and which Maestro Ughi dedicates to the capital with the aim of introducing the public at large to classical music as well as bringing young people to the forefront both as new talents to promote and as a public to be educated, has come to an end. Held from September 20 to October 17, its fourteen free concerts were hosted in some of the prestigious locations in Rome and its province. This year's programme saw important partnerships being built between public institutions and large Italian and international companies. Leading Italian - such as Uto Ughi himself, the Orchestra dei Filarmonici di Roma, Edoardo Zosi, Giorgio Carnini and the Orchestra Giovanile Uto Ughi per Roma - and international performers - such as Yuri Bashmet, Kirill Gerstein and Daniel Wnukowski - brought their performances to life with the wide ranging consensus of their public, critics and the press. On October 1 The "Uto Ughi per Roma" award, this year dedicated to science, was bestowed on Umberto Veronesi for his significant contribution to research and to the fight against cancer during a gala evening held at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome. www.utoughiperroma.com |
